Trees as Infrastructure

An open source model to support municipalities in transitioning toward resilient urban forest management practices.

Our mission

We are in urgent need of a mind shift to respond to the climate crisis. Trees As Infrastructure aims to nurture city trees that are active agents in tempering our urban climates by building new interactions between plants and our transactional and socio-political economies.

Through novel accounting and contracting models we value trees as assets reorienting administrative procedures and attention toward the diverse environmental benefits and behaviours of urban forests.

We’re a team of urban planners, architects, technologists, economists and ecologists working to improve green infrastructure in cities.
